Privacy Policy
Protecting your personal data is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we process, the purposes for which we process it, and the rights you have in relation to your personal data.
1. General Information
The protection of your personal data is a matter of particular importance to the Society of the Divine Savior (SDS), hereinafter referred to as the “Salvatorians”.
We process your personal data exclusively in accordance with the applicable data protection legislation, in particular Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation, GDPR), the Austrian Data Protection Act (Datenschutzgesetz, DSG) and, where applicable, the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (Telekommunikationsgesetz 2021, TKG 2021).
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed in connection with our pastoral, cultural and economic activities and when you use our website.

3. Scope of Responsibility
The parishes administered by the Salvatorians, including the Parish of St. Michael, are independent legal entities and are legally separate from the Salvatorian religious community.
They fall within the jurisdiction of the respective diocese, in particular the Diocese of Graz-Seckau or the Archdiocese of Vienna, and are subject to the applicable data protection rules and responsibilities of those dioceses.
This Privacy Policy therefore applies exclusively to the Salvatorian religious community, its pastoral, cultural and economic activities for which it is responsible, and this website.
4. Contacting Us
If you contact us by email, telephone, post or by other means, we process the personal data you provide insofar as this is necessary to handle your enquiry and communicate with you.
Data relating to general enquiries is generally retained for no longer than twelve months after the enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations or other legitimate reasons require longer storage.
Depending on the purpose of your enquiry, processing is based in particular on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent), Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract or steps taken prior to entering into a contract), or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interests).
We disclose your personal data only where this is necessary for the relevant purpose, required by law, or you have consented to such disclosure.
5. Business and Contractual Relationships
If you enter into a business or contractual relationship with the Salvatorian religious community, for example in connection with rental, leasing, purchase, sale or another contractual arrangement, we process the personal data required to initiate, perform and administer the relevant legal relationship.
The legal basis for such processing is, in particular, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Where processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation, it is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Business records and accounting data are retained in accordance with applicable statutory retention obligations. Where Austrian tax or company law requires records to be retained for seven years, the relevant documents will be retained for that period.
Data may be retained for longer where this is necessary in connection with pending proceedings or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
6. Server Data
When you visit our website, technically necessary information transmitted by your browser or device to the server may be processed. This may include, in particular, the page accessed, the date and time of access, your browser and operating system, and your IP address.
This processing serves to ensure the technical provision, stability and security of the website and to detect and prevent misuse.
Where personal data is processed for these purposes, the legal basis is our legitimate interest in the secure and reliable operation of our website pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
7. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies.
Cookies are small files or pieces of information that may be stored on or accessed from your device.
Strictly necessary cookies and similar technologies may be used where they are required for the operation of the website or to provide a service expressly requested by you.
Other technologies, in particular those used for web analytics or the integration of certain external services, are used only after you have given your consent.

The storage of information on your device or access to information already stored on your device is governed, in particular, by Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG 2021). Where personal data is processed in this context, the provisions of the GDPR also apply.
8. Google Analytics
Subject to your consent, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, on our website.
Google Analytics enables us to statistically analyse the use of our website. The information processed may include pages viewed, interactions with the website, technical information about your browser and device, approximate location information and information about how you reached our website.
Google Analytics is used only on the basis of your consent.
According to Google, individual IP addresses of users in the European Union are not logged or stored in Google Analytics. An IP address may initially be used to derive approximate location information and is subsequently discarded.
The legal basis for processing personal data in connection with Google Analytics is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Section 165(3) TKG 2021 additionally applies to the storage of or access to information on your device.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future through the privacy or cookie settings on our website.
In connection with Google services, personal data may be processed outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred to a third country, such transfer is carried out in accordance with the requirements of Chapter V of the GDPR.

9. YouTube
Our website may contain embedded content from the YouTube video service. YouTube is a service provided by Google.
When embedded YouTube content is loaded, data may be transmitted to Google. This may include, in particular, your IP address, technical information about your device and browser, and information about the page you are visiting.
If you are signed in to a Google account, Google may be able to associate your use of YouTube with your account.
Where consent is required for the integration of YouTube, the relevant content is loaded only after you have given your consent.
The legal basis for the associated processing of personal data is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 165(3) TKG 2021.

10. Google Maps
Our website may use Google Maps to display maps and locations. Google Maps is a service provided by Google.
When Google Maps is loaded, technical information and personal data may be transmitted to Google. This may include, in particular, your IP address and information about your browser and device. Depending on your settings and permissions, location information may also be processed.
Where consent is required for Google Maps, the relevant map content is loaded only after you have given your consent.
The legal basis for processing is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 165(3) TKG 2021.

11. Newsletter
You may subscribe to our email newsletter.
For the purpose of sending the newsletter, we process only your email address.
The data is processed solely for the purpose of sending you the requested newsletter and information from the Salvatorians.
The newsletter is managed directly by us. We do not use an external newsletter service provider for this purpose.
The legal basis for processing your email address is your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.
Where a confirmation procedure is used as part of the subscription process, you will receive an email after registering asking you to confirm your subscription. This serves, in particular, to prevent subscriptions using another person's email address.
You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future and unsubscribe from the newsletter. You can use the unsubscribe option provided in the newsletter or contact us at:
Following your unsubscribe request, your email address will be removed from the newsletter distribution list unless there is a legal basis or other lawful reason for its continued retention.
12. Links to Social Networks and External Websites
Our website may contain links to external websites and social networks, for example Facebook, Instagram, X, WhatsApp or YouTube.
Where such content consists solely of a link, a connection to the respective external provider is generally established only when you click the link.
Once you visit an external website, the privacy policies and data processing practices of the respective provider apply. We have no control over the processing of data by those providers.
13. Recipients of Personal Data
Personal data is disclosed to third parties only where this is necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, where we are legally required to do so, where a service provider processes personal data on our behalf, or where you have consented to the disclosure.
Where service providers process personal data on our behalf, appropriate agreements pursuant to Article 28 GDPR are concluded where required.
14. Transfers of Personal Data to Third Countries
The use of certain external services may involve the processing of personal data in countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred to a third country, such transfer is carried out in accordance with the requirements of Articles 44 et seq. GDPR.
Depending on the recipient and the third country concerned, the transfer may be based, in particular, on an adequacy decision by the European Commission or on appropriate safeguards pursuant to Article 46 GDPR.
15. Retention Periods
We generally retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purpose for which it is processed.
Personal data may be retained for longer where statutory retention obligations apply or where continued retention is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where specific retention periods apply to individual processing activities, these are stated in the relevant sections of this Privacy Policy.
16. Your Rights
Subject to the applicable statutory requirements, you have, in particular, the following rights:
Right of access pursuant to Article 15 GDPR;
Right to rectification pursuant to Article 16 GDPR;
Right to erasure pursuant to Article 17 GDPR;
Right to restriction of processing pursuant to Article 18 GDPR;
Right to data portability pursuant to Article 20 GDPR;
Right to object pursuant to Article 21 GDPR.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future pursuant to Article 7(3) GDPR. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
