Mobility creates opportunities. It enables access to healthcare, education, and pastoral care while connecting people across great distances. As part of this year's MIVA St Christopher Campaign, the Salvatorians, together with MIVA and St Michael's Parish, invite everyone to an afternoon of encounter at St Michael's Monastery and St Michael's Church in Vienna on Saturday, 18 July 2026.
The programme begins at 4:00 p.m. with a presentation in the monastery's Summer Refectory. MIVA Executive Director Christine Parzer and Board Member Lukas Korosec will share insights into MIVA's worldwide mission and present inspiring examples of how vehicles provide new opportunities for people in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. The presentation will be followed by an opportunity for personal conversation and fellowship.
At 6:00 p.m., Fr Erhard Rauch SDS will celebrate Holy Mass with the parish community and all guests at St Michael's Church. The liturgy will focus on the MIVA St Christopher Campaign and will conclude with the blessing of a MIVA vehicle in Michaelerplatz.
The afternoon is also an expression of gratitude to everyone who has supported MIVA's mission over many years. It offers an opportunity to meet the people behind the projects, learn more about the impact of their work, and be inspired by stories of lived solidarity.
